Lakie describes this piece as “A view of my favorite season of the year, the time of my birth.”

Lakie is native of Nashville and a graduate of Antioch High School, where  her love of art began under the mentorship of Ms. Marcia King, an art teacher there.  She chose to participate in Master Pieces upon recommendation of her sister, Kamilah Aisha Moon, a poet who used one of Lakie’s paintings as the cover artwork for her book of poems, “She Has a Name.”  As an individual on the autism spectrum, Lakie also wants to support autism research.
